Ben and I just before the 20 week scan...we had no idea what we were about to find out or how hard it would be...we also did not know how close it would make our family, and how excited it would make us to be his parents just these past 4 days later. Life has a way of surprising you, sometimes negatively, but if you look closely the most beautiful and happy parts of life come from that little bit of hard.
This was such a tough and emotional day for Ben and I. We found out Jayden has cleft lip and possibly cleft palate. We do however feel blessed that the issue is an isolated cleft and not part of a bigger syndrome so after a little plastic surgery, Jayden's life can go on like any other child's. We are heartbroken over the stuggle he with already face in his short lifetime but know that with the Lord's help Ben, Jayden, and I will make it through and come out better and stronger for it. God does not make mistakes, and he has his purposes for the struggles we all face in life. We can't wait to meet you and hold you for the first time. We love you, love you, love you our precious, beautiful little baby! Thanks for letting us be your parents! We feel so blessed that Heavenly Father trusts us with such a special little spirit.

He was not about to be social upon being woke up for the scan...He was so cute when the scan started asleep on his tummy with his legs and arms tucked beneath him...so calm and sweet...little did we know what a little stinker he would become when we woke him up. He was very upset to be woken up from his nap and have some device squishing his living space. He was kicking and punching like crazy! It made it very difficult to diagnose the cleft.
Like I said...a little upset he was punching his arms and kicking his legs like crazy...definitely my baby. He does not like doctors. Poor guy he gonna be around doctors a lot the first little bit of his life...:(

Us two days after finding out about Jayden's cleft...Ben forced me to get ready, get out of the house and go to I-hop on a late night night out with him. Thanks hun! You are such a strength and a comfort to me. Thanks for standing by my side and helping me through this...and for making me get myself together and out of the apartment.
The things my siblings bought him with their own money-so cute of them. They could not wait for us to get them and to help us put them in the car. They kept saying "we are just so excited for the nephew!' It was so cute!
The bib the kids said he could wear for Christmas dinner. They are all so excited!

The cute high chair Lindsay bought Jayden with her birthday money. SO tender! It is really cool anad has two different trays, one the toy hooks on (which lights up and plays music) and one for food with dividers. Jayden is so loved and is going to love this!
All in all it was a fun day out with Ryan and my pretty much sister-in-law.:)
